Service Level Agreement (SLA)

A contract between a service provider and its customers. In telecommunications, the network operator specifies features of the network service that they provide to their customers (e.g. availability, data rate, latency, etc.).

The tariff for a service depends on the SLA. Moreover, for certain mission-critical IoT applications, a failure in availability or latency could impact safety or the performance of an important action in response to a condition detected by a sensor. Consequently, SLAs underpin the value of the network operator’s IoT service and ongoing measurement is critical. Cheetah Networks PulseView™ Solution provides the means for network operators to measure performance as their IoT customers experience it. The solution supports real-time understanding of the network an equips the network operator to meet their SLAs.
