4G

(Fourth Generation Wireless). A set of mobile communications standards describing the services and architecture of a mobile network, including the devices through to the carrier core network. Where 3G overlaid internet on the voice-centric mobile network, 4G is equally internet and data-centric.

4G allows connection with speeds of 100 megabits per second to mobile users and enabled a first wave of cellular IOT services. The 4G design does not fundamentally distinguish the difference between device types ꟷ smart phones to IoT devices ꟷ and consequently has limitations in supporting large numbers of connected devices for IoT.

Cheetah Networks PulseView™ provides network operators with the equivalent of a gas guage and tachometer for IoT networks and applications.
